Our Steel Structure Services
Structural Steel Design
We design structural steel elements and systems using Eurocode 3 (EC3) and BS 5950, covering member sizing, connection design, stability analysis, and serviceability checks. Our steel designs are optimised for material efficiency and constructability, reducing waste and cost.
Steel Connection Design & Detailing
Connection design is one of the most critical and often underestimated aspects of structural steel engineering. We design bolted and welded connections (moment connections, simple shear connections, base plates, and splice connections) with full calculation packages and fabrication drawings.
Fabrication Drawing Production
We produce detailed shop drawings (fabrication drawings) that the steel fabricator uses to cut, drill, and weld individual steel members. Our shop drawings include full member dimensions, hole patterns, weld specifications, and surface treatment requirements.
Fabrication Quality Oversight
We provide inspection services during steel fabrication, visiting the fabrication shop to verify material certification, dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and surface preparation before steel elements leave for site. This is a critical quality assurance step that prevents costly errors being discovered only during erection.
Site Erection Inspection
We inspect steel erection on site, verifying that members are erected plumb and level, that bolts are tightened to the specified torque, and that site welds meet quality requirements before the frame is loaded.
